Session Title: “Flying High“– Aeroscholars: An Online Aviation Science
Experience
AeroScholars is an online aviation science course for high school
students that also offers up to six college credits and endorses the
students to take the FAA Private Pilot Written Exam. As students develop a
love for aviation they often show dramatic improvements in math and science
as they apply these principles to the exciting world of aviation.

Session Title: Aviation as a Positive Tool in Youth Intervention
Teens-In-Flight provides flight training and aviation maintenance
scholarships to those teens that have lost a parent in the Global war on
Terrorism or, is the teen of a parent who was wounded in action and is
disabled. Another phase of our program also focuses on selected teens that
are considered "at risk" within our community by providing a positive
aviation intervention experience. Our program centers on teaching the thrill
of flying, earning a FAA private pilot certificate at no cost and opening
the doors to a career in aviation.

Students in a rural Alaskan Native Village are getting hands-on aviation
experience by building a Thorp T211 Light Sport Aircraft which they will

students in remote villages of Alaska with the opportunity not only to learn
to fly but also how to maintain one of these simple aircraft.

Get “personal” with the planets. Bringing the popularity of internet
social networking websites into the classroom, your students will create
poster versions of my “space”, the planets in our Solar System. Participants

Session Title: Hooper Bay Build a Plane Project
Students in a rural Alaskan Native Village are getting hands-on aviation
experience by building a Thorp T211 Light Sport Aircraft which they will
learn to fly. This project is the start of a model program that will present
students in remote villages of Alaska with the opportunity not only to learn
to fly but also how to maintain one of these simple aircraft.

Session Title: Skyways
Skyways is a hands-on program presented by the Hiller Aviation Museum to
visiting school groups. Skyways combines the simulator and a VFR flight
planning exercise to give students a broader appreciation of aviation and
the importance of math. Discover free NASA Air Traffic Control simulation
software and flight planning activities that engage students with math and
science concepts in an aviation environment.
